India’s National Investigation Agency (NIA) has arrested 9 Sri Lankans who have been strongly accused of reviving the Liberation Tigers of Tamil Eelam (LTTE), large-scale importation of drugs and weapons to Sri Lanka.
A resident of Colombo, named C. Gunasekaran or Guna who was the main person in the conspiracy to revive the LTTE along with Haji Salim, a large-scale Pakistani drug trafficker, has been arrested.
Further, Pushparaja or Pukudikanna; Mohammad Azmin; Alahapperumaga Sunil Gamini Fonseka, Stanley Kennedy Fernando, Ladia Chandrasena, Dhanushka Roshan, Vellala Suranga and Thilipan have also been arrested here.
An anti-terrorism officer in Delhi said that Haji Salim was one of the biggest drug and arms smugglers from Pakistan to Sri Lanka.
