In the year 2021, 225,492 people in Sri Lanka were newly referred for family planning, and 29,993 of them underwent sterilization surgery, according to a report released by the Central Bank of Sri Lanka regarding the country’s economic and social statistics.

Compared to the year 2020, 96,693 new people applied for family planning in the year 2021, which is a significant increase.

In the year 2012, 21,109 sterilization surgeries were performed, and after that year, the highest number of sterilization surgeries were performed in the year 2021, according to this report.

In the year 2021, 28,531 people under family planning organizations had lupus and 44,462 people had used swallowing pills.

79,622 people have been referred for vaccination.
