The Public Utilities Commission states that the Mistyped stocks of crude oil have been imported into Sri Lanka and the wrong type of naphtha oil is produced from them.

Mr. Janaka Rathnayake said that because the percentage of naphtha produced from recently imported crude oil is high, they are not used for naphtha power plants.

He further said that this non-compliant crude oil was imported by Ceylon Petroleum Corporations and now the remaining naphtha stock has been consumed by those who imported it.

He made these comments while joining the discussion with Hiru TV.
