Media mafia and the verdict

‘ No votes in seventy-seven…’

This is the slogan that ministers from then-Prime Minister Bandaranaike’s United Front government told the entire country to hear in 1976. By this time, the government’s partner parties, the Sri Lanka Samasamaja Party and the Communist Party, had left, and the government was on all fours. State intelligence agencies had told Prime Minister Bandaranaike that if the election was held, she would lose badly. As a result, Mrs.B’s ministers made a fool of themselves by claiming that there are no votes in seventy-seven.

‘Elections can be stopped over my dead body…’

At that time, the opposition leader JR. Jayawardena shouted and said that.

Such was JR, but his nephew Ranil Wickramasinghe and his cabinet and his party, U.N.P., all the main line media in Sri Lanka who claim to be national and democrats and liberals, take over the websites and say no to the 2023 small vote, a huge plant news campaign. Only Sirasa Siyatha and Mawrata media spoke the truth against this huge media plant that was in operation.

When Ranil and his cabinet said that the Election Commission was divided into two, and when the UNP news plant, no other media came forward to get a statement from the Chairman of the Election Commission that there is no such division.

‘Is it possible to control a country by planting news?’

21 January 2023, ‘Guruda Vigraha’, Unge News Plant Party (UNP) wrote on the same question. If you review the news in Sri Lanka’s so-called national media for a month until last Friday, you will note when there was a verdict to be delivered on holding of the mini election, the news appeared in this manner.

A division in the Election Commission, the President says to have a consensus without being divided.

“There is no money for election,” say senior officials of the treasury. directive from the secretary of public administration ministry to stop election all duties.

The State Administrative Secretary revokes the order.

‘A vote is not necessary at this time’ says the UNP.

‘There is no money to spend for the election,’ says the Minister of State for Finance.

Charles, a member of the Election Commission, hands over her letter of resignation to the President. The President does not accept the letter.

The Director General of the Information Department says that the election date has not been gazetted yet.

Finance Ministry Secretary tells the court that it is difficult to give money for the election.

Circular, regarding disbursing money from the exchequer only for essential services.

A circular from the President on how the Treasury should release money.

President accepts Charles’ letter of resignation.

Applications are invited to recruit new members of the Election Commission.

The MPs ask the Speaker to inquire about the Election Commission.

All these are plant news. These were used to pressure the parties like Samagi Jana Balawega, Janata Vimukthi Peramuna, and Freedom Platform, which were ready for the election, not to campaign. Creating an opinion that there is no atmosphere in the country for an election. That opinion is to spread up to Aluthkade as well. Voting is denied to the Election Commission. Moreover, the IMF The debt restructuring guarantee given by India to get the loan was also used to postpone the vote.

When the Indian foreign minister was about to bring the good news, the secretary of the finance ministry told the court about the difficulty of giving money for the election. If there is a vote when the debt restructuring is progressing on successfully, there will be an obstacle to it. The loan is about to be given now. The news plant also said that China is ready to change the original letter they gave to Ranil to support debt restructuring. After that, a campaign was launched to get the Paris Club to agree to debt restructuring. All this was done by the news plant to convince the court that the finance ministry secretary’s expenses to the vote would hinder the restructuring of the debt. Next, it was also reported that Japan has agreed to join the Paris Club and restructure its debt.

But exactly on the day the court hears the case, the IMF’s spokesperson issued a statement.

‘Until Sri Lanka’s debt owners give assurances to restructure the debt, Sri Lanka cannot be granted debt relief…’

After this IMF announcement next, news reached was that Japan’s Mitsubishi Company withdrew from projects in Sri Lanka. Mitsubishi Company started projects in Sri Lanka during the time of J.R. In this regard, the Japanese Embassy told the media that Sri Lanka has received the IMF’s approval regarding economic and governance issues. Japan is waiting for the fulfilment of the imposed conditions. It shows that Japan is still hesitant.

This means the IMF news all are plants. Ranil’s government and UNP must have thought that the court will decide to postpone the vote after looking into this plant news. But the court gave an order to hold the vote while protecting the right of universal franchise. The court has given this order confirming if for the second time, the order first given to Chandrika’s government in 1998 to hold the provincial council elections.

‘Now what is the news plant media mafia saying…?’

Newsplant media mafia are now like stoned cats. They must have thought that the court will decide by looking at their news. Today, neither the courts nor the people make judgments based on this news plant. It is clear where the country is when you look at the people’s gatherings where Samagi Jana Balawega and JVP rallies are held. It is clear that the people are not ready to accept the perversion of the president and the government of the country.

Ranil and Ranil’s UNP like this perversion. After becoming the leader and appointing his friends to the party executive board, he protected the leadership of the U.N.P. for almost 30 years. The Rajapaksa family helped to preserve power in this perversion. Due to the struggle, the governance and the government were distorted. To recover this distortion, they formed the distorted U.N.P. Ranil, who is protecting the leadership, was made the president.

During D.B. Wijetunga’s government, the opposition MP Mahinda Rajapaksa gave a wonderful speech. That is the story of the weaver. The story of the weaver sending the king naked on the road. The weaver said beautiful and beautiful as the king dressed in a transparent dress and went naked. The people laughed out loud. Today, Ranil has woven a blanket for the Rajapaksa. The Rajapaksas have woven a cloth for Ranil. Ranil’s dress  Rajapaksa says ‘beautiful’. Ranil says the cloth of the Rajapaksa is ‘beautiful’. But the court has shown that Ranil and Rajapaksa are running naked amidst the laughter of the people.
