Rohitha, the younger son of Mahinda, claims his account was defrauded of $400!

The Narahenpita Police reported today (09) before Colombo Additional Magistrate Mr. Pasan Amarasena that they have started an investigation regarding the theft of nearly $400 from the credit card of former President Mahinda Rajapaksa’s younger son Rohitha Rajapaksa.

Chief Inspector Akila Ranasinghe, OIC of Narahenpita Police, reported to the court that 387 dollars i.e. one hundred and five thousand rupees in Lankan currency was stolen from the credit card belonging to the complainant on four occasions through online exchange.

No. Rohitha Chandana Rajapaksa, resident of 117, Wijerama Mawatha, Colombo 07, submitted this complaint to Narahenpita Police.

The Narahenpita Police has reported to the court that he left his house at 184 Duwa Road, Baddagana, Kotte to his Matara house on the 3rd , and in the meantime his Sampath Bank credit card fell.

After reporting to the court that this is an offense punishable under Section 386 of the Penal Code of Lanka, the police also requested to issue an order to the headquarters manager of Sampath Bank to summon the relevant bank account records.
