Loss-making SOE will have to close down to boost state revenue – Bandula Gunawardana

Cabinet Spokesperson Minister Bandula Gunawardena stated at the weekly cabinet briefing on Tuesday (23) that reforming state enterprises and restructuring loss-making state institutions will be necessary and should be prioritised


He also said that necessary measures must be taken on a priority basis to increase state revenue. .


He warned that some of the state’s loss-making enterprises would have to be closed down or reformed, or the state’s operations would be impossible to continue.


Sri Lanka’s Cabinet of Ministers approved the preparation of budget estimates for the coming year with the goal of increasing state revenue.
