The Ministerial Advisory Committee on State Administration, Home Affairs, Provincial Councils and Local Government Affairs has agreed to cancel the nominations submitted for the local government elections. (Sri Lanka Latest News)
This decision was taken at the Ministerial Advisory Committee on Public Administration, Home Affairs, Provincial Councils and Local Government held yesterday (20) in the Parliament chaired by the Prime Minister and Minister of State Administration, Home Affairs, Provincial Councils and Local Government Dinesh Gunawardena.
However, the proposal to cancel this nomination needs to be passed in the Parliament.
Many state ministers including Janaka Vakkambura, Ashoka Priyanatha, opposition leader, members of parliament, relevant government institutions and department officials participated in this ministerial advisory committee.
