IUSF condemns the government’s repression

IUSF condemns the government’s repression. Terence Rodrigo, the Inter University Students Federation’s acting convener, claimed that the government’s acts of repression were staged and added that, despite talking about neoliberal principles, none of the activists who had been detained had appeared in court.

Rodrigo explained that the government’s attempt to demonise demonstrators was motivated by its inability to address the social, political, and economic issues that the Sri Lankan people were facing.

He continued, “Ranil Rajapaksa’s economic reforms are not the answers the people are yearning for.” He also added that they had sold the nation’s natural riches.
