The OIC of Welikada Police has been transferred to the Police Field Force Headquarters.
It is related to the suspicious death of a 41-year-old woman in Badulla area while in police custody.
Earlier, a police inspector, two sergeants and a police constable were suspended in connection with the incident.
Regarding the related incident, two other police constables and one police constable were transferred.
The relatives of the deceased woman allege that the woman in question died due to assault.
The police have also started an internal investigation regarding the incident.
