Former Chief Justice Sarath N.Silva strongly criticized the government’s efforts to remove Janaka Rathnayake, Chairman of the Public Utility Commission from that position. It is reported that Mr. Silva is currently conducting a special lecture.

Earlier, he also made a special statement about this and said that not only the government, but also the people should think about the decisions and make decisions, and harassing the heads of the independent commissions established according to the constitution of the country is not a characteristic of optimal governance.

The former Chief Justice who criticized the action taken by the government to remove the governors recently said that a resolution of two-thirds of the provincial council should be passed.
