A two-judge bench of the Islamabad High Court has decided to stay the conviction of Pakistan’s former Prime Minister Imran Khan on corruption charges. Sri Lanka Latest News
The former prime minister has been in prison since he was sentenced to three years in prison on August 5 on charges of illegally selling state gifts during his tenure as prime minister from 2018 to 2022.
As a result of the conviction, the country’s Election Commission banned Khan from contesting elections for five years.
