IMF Managing Director Kristalina Georgieva expressed her delight that IMF staff and Sri Lankan government officials had reached a staff-level agreement to support the country’s economic policies.
Recently, the Sri Lankan government and the IMF agreed to a 48-month Extended Fund Facility of US$ 2.9 billion.
“This is a big step forward for Sri Lanka,” she said.
