Hit-and-run motorist fled to Dubai

In connection with the incident in which a luxury car collided with a three-wheeler at Kollupitiya Galle Road and a driver of the three-wheeler was killed, it is revealed that the (26)-year-old car driver and the owner of the car fled to Dubai on the same day.

The accident took place last (10th) at around 6.15 am and it is reported that the suspect left the car in the same place after the accident and fled from Katunayake Airport to Dubai at around 9.55 am that day, according to police sources.

According to police sources, the suspect is a (26)-year-old man and is engaged in business while staying in the state of Dubai.

The police suspect that he may have held a drinking party for a group of his friends on the day he happened to be on holiday from Dubai.

According to the police, a group of five people including three women were drinking alcohol from three nightclubs and were going to a star hotel in Colombo to drink more alcohol.

Police sources also say that the suspect fled the country to avoid arrest.

The police also said that the three-wheeler driver, who died after being seriously injured in the incident, is a 58-year-old resident of Kahathuduwa area, Dramon Noordin Zaul.

The police say that the driver of the car who has fled the country is a millionaire businessman, and the suspect was not found in the two residences of the suspect in Maradana, Dehiwala and Wellampitiya.

In an inquiry made by Police Media Spokesman Senior Superintendent of Police Mr. Nihal Talduwa regarding the incident, he said that judicial procedures had been taken regarding this incident, and they were working to bring the suspect to Sri Lanka through the International Police after obtaining orders from the court.
