Government majority narrows, difference only 6!

The government majority narrows the difference to only 6. It is observed that due to the party shifting and some becoming independent within the parliament, the parliamentary consensus has changed so that the ruling party and the opposition stand side by side.

At the beginning, the Sri Lanka Podujana Peramuna had the majority support of 157 MPs, but it is noted it has now dropped to 119.

This change has happened due to the fact that 13 people, including Mr. Dullas Alahapperuma, who were with the government, joined the opposition, the party led by Wimal Weerawansa became independent, and the Sri Lanka Freedom Party became independent as well.

It is also known that the composition of the opposition has increased to 105 due to this situation.

If the government loses the support of 06 other MPs who are with the ruling party, the government will have a serious problem regarding the majority.
