Freighted gasoline is being tested for quality before being unloaded tomorrow: Minister

One shipment of Petrol has arrived in the country and is currently undergoing quality testing; unloading will begin tomorrow (21), according to Power and Energy Minister Kanchana Wijesekera.


He stated that Ceylon Petroleum Storage Terminals Limited (CPSTL) will begin train and truck deliveries to remote depots tomorrow.
Meanwhile, the unloading of the two diesel freighters has been completed at the Colombo ports, and the unloading of another tanker freighter is currently underway at the harbour.


Furthermore, the Minister stated that the Ministry of the National Youth Corps (NYC) and its members have volunteered to help with the National Fuel Pass initiative.


He stated that the city will assist the public in registering with the platform by volunteering at gas stations on July 21, and that the process will be extended to rural areas as well.
