Mr. A.H.M. Fowzie, who represented Samagi Jana Balawegayaya in the Parliament voted in favour during the voting related to the agreement with the International Monetary Fund held this afternoon.
This is going against the party’s decision to boycott the poll.
A new disciplinary committee was appointed at the meeting of the SJB Working Committee held last Monday, and steps were taken to give its leadership to President’s counsel Mr. Upul Jayasuriya.
Accordingly, many people are currently waiting for the decision of the SJB Disciplinary Committee regarding Mr. Fouwzie, who went outside the party’s decision. Mr. Fowzie came to Parliament to fill the seat vacated by Mr. Mujibar Rahman to contest LG election.
