A commemoration of war dead and missing Tamils was held today (May 18) at Mullivaikkal Beach, Mullaitivu.
Their relatives, civil society activists and politicians also participated in that.
Every year the organizers distribute coconut saplings to the people who come here to light lamps and remember their dead relatives.
Relatives say that they take them home, plant them and keep them safe, symbolizing dead and missing relatives.
