Flight controllers join the strike! The incoming plane may be late!

Mr. Thisara Amarananda, President of the Sri Lanka Air Traffic Controllers Association, said that air traffic controllers have decided to engage in a “work to the letter” professional action today (15) from 12.00 noon to 02.00 pm in support of the ongoing professional struggle today (15). .

This union warns that due to this professional action, there may be delays in flights departing and arriving from Sri Lanka.

However, Mr. Thisara Amarananda emphasized that this professional action will not cause any obstacles to the planes traveling above the Sri Lankan airspace, planes with emergency needs, planes carrying medical aid and patients and planes carrying out rescue operations.

Katunayake Bandaranaike International Airport is closed every week on Wednesdays from 02.30 pm to 04.30 pm for essential maintenance of its runway.
