European Union’s GSP concession has now expired,:six Asian countries, including Sri Lanka, must apply again.

Mr. Harsha De Silva, Colombo District Member of Samagi Jana Balavega, said in the Parliament that the GSP concession given by the European Union has now ended and six countries in Asia including Sri Lanka have to submit an application again.

He said that no matter what the government says, if the government does not withdraw the Anti-Terrorism Act, Sri Lanka will never get the GSP plus concession again.

Mr. Harsha de Silva mentioned that the European Union will make a decision about the countries that will be given GSP again from 2024 to 2033 and there are twenty-seven agreements in the European Union for that.
