Enemy at the gate – Ranil’s Hitler moment

“Someone tells me to be a Hitler in front of me and I immediately condemn that statement…”

This is Ranil’s response to Reverend Anunayake Upali Thero of the Asgiri chapter’s advice to Gotabhaya to be like Hitler on Gota’s birthday. Ranil expressed surprise that no one, including the media, condemned Anunayake Thero’s statement.

‘How can Ranil become president today and claim to be Hitler?’

Ranil said I was Hitler, but then swallowed the next sentence.

On Wednesday and Thursday, Ranil did not just tell these stories because he was perplexed about him.

Basil’s budget for 2022 was approved by a two-thirds vote. The opposition received 60 votes. When the TNA and JVP votes were removed, Sajith’s Samagi Jana Balawegaya received 42 votes. Except for Sirasa and Mawrata, all other media and websites have reported that since Ranil’selection as a National list MP 15 or 20 of these 42 votes would then support Ranil.

But two people joined Ranil’s government from Samagi Jana Balavegaya. It’s only Hareen and Manusha. When Ranil became President, all other media reported that 15 to 20 members of Samagi Jana Balavegaya would joine Ranil’s government and became ministers, except ‘Mawrata’ and Sirasa.

According to media reports, party general secretary Ranjith Maddumabandara was reported to be joining Ranil’s government. Fonseka was expected to join. Harsha and Eran are rumored to be joining. Harsha is said to be the Finance Minister. When all of the false media reports were denied by the people concerned, only ‘Mawrata’ and Sirasa Media published it.

But after Ranil became president, no one joined Ranil’s government. When Ranil became president and presented the interim budget, all other media reported that 6 or 7 members of Samagi Jana Balawega will join the government, except Sirasa and ‘Mawrata’. Then the number of MPs which was mentioned earlier was reduced from 15-20 to 5-7. But no one joined the government in the interim budget.

In this year’s budget, 7 SJB MPs including Rajitha will join Ranil’s government, and all other media reported that there will be a cabinet reshuffle before the budget, except ‘Mawrata’ and “Sirasa.” However, except ‘Mawrata’ and Sirasa, other media outlets published this news every day that Rajitha was joining the government. Nevertheless, Rajitha voted against the budget. Samagi Jana Balawegaya had 42 votes during Basil’s 2022 budget. When JVP and TNA added, it was 60. Today, in this year’s budget, the opposition received 84 votes without TNA. votes.

How did the opposition increase from 42 to 84 when all the media in this country were reporting many would cross to government from the SJB. ?’

The reason is none other than the fact that 84 people with a conscience who do not betray their souls for money, president ships, Prime Minister Ships, minister ships, joined together in the opposition. This is 84 without the TNA who did not vote for the budget. The opposition is close to 100 when the MPs and the two minority members of Samagi Jana Balavega who were abroad are added. Only 13 more are needed to topple the Ranil and Rajapaksa government.

‘Does this mean that the story that no one can beat Ranil in the ‘head game’ inside the parliament is going to be a lie…?’

A day after the conclusion of the voting in the parliament Ranil came to the house and start yelling because that signs are emerging he is heading towards losing the cup in his own game inside the parliament.

Ranil attacked Sajith and Kumar Gunaratnam. Kumar Gunaratnam’s name has never been Hansarded in the history of the Parliament of Sri Lanka. The reason is that no one has talked about him. But the way the President of the country came to Parliament and beat Kumar Gunaratnam shows how much Ranil and the Rajapaksa government is afraid of Kumar Gunaratnam.

JR never mentioned Rohana Wijeweera’s name during JVP terror period. The reason is that JR was afraid that people would think that he was afraid of Wijeweera if he started to fight by saying Wijeweera’s name. Because of this, he only once said Wijeweera’s name mistakenly to show that he does not care for him. He did not say Rohana Wijeweera but said Rohan Wijeweera. He showed that he did not even remember Wijeweera’s name. But Ranil went to beat Kumar Gunaratnam and made Kumar a hero. From the day Ranil became the president, Ranil’s journalists presented the birth certificates to the struggle by denoting different name and portrayed different fathers to the struggle. But that day, Ranil told the whole world that it was Kumar Gunaratnam who initiated the Aragalaya. Ranil said that it was wrong to burn the houses of MPs.

The houses of ministers and MPs of Podujana Peramuna were burnt down on the night of May 8, 2022. Exactly on May 09, 2022, Ranil said in a tweet which says.

‘Gota Go village, which was peaceful, was attacked by thugs today. We completely condemn those acts of thuggery, everyone in the country has a duty to protect Gota Go village. Not only the prime minister but the entire government should resign over this attack. If the government is going to destroy Gota Go village using the emergency law, I will withdraw from the negotiations with the government to solve the economic crisis. Support to the government will also be stopped…’

Ranil made this announcement after the protesters burnt down the houses of the ministers in Pohottuwa. But in this announcement, there is no mention of those burnt houses. After that, the government including Prime Minister Mahinda left. Ranil became the Prime Minister. Even after that, Ranil asked the people to support Gota Go village as the Prime Minister. He also appointed a committee to look into the basic needs of Gota Go Home village. He asked the committee to look into their food and drink and toilet facilities.

‘Unusual, the newly appointed Prime Minister Ranil asks the people to support the protest to remove President Gota.’

Times of India

This is how India’s famous Times of India reported the news.

Ranil, who asked the people to support the struggle even after burning down the houses of the ministers during the Gota Go Home struggle, how can it be said that it is wrong to burn houses after Ranil became the president and said not to suppress the struggle by imposing emergency law…?

How can you say no to struggle again?

Herein lies the issue. After beating the struggle and Kumar Gunaratnam, Ranil next attack was Sajith. That is the story of Sajith’s opposition to the sale of profit-making government institutions. He said Premadasa was Sajith’s father who sold profit-making government institution. Presenting a list, he said that Premadasa sold institutes are profit making institutes. Karu Jayasuriya is the best person to ask which companies have made profits and which companies have made losses. It was Karu Jayasuriya who was appointed by Premadasa as the chairman of many of the Premadasa sold institutions. When Karu entered politics, he showed that his main qualification was that he made loss-making government institutions and turned them into profit-making institutions when Premadasa made him chairman. On the other hand, Premadasa did not give even one of these institutions to foreigners. It was given to Sri Lankan businessmen.

Next, Ranil says that privatization is the policy of JR, Premadasa and UNP.

‘Then why Ranil  when Chandrika’s government sold Air Lanka , as  the U.N.P leader and opposition leader, opposed it…?’

Ranil not only opposed the sale of Air Lanka but also brought a no-confidence motion against Chandrika’s government.

‘He sold Sri Lanka…’

That’s how Ranil made his speech in Parliament that day. When Mahinda came to power in 2005 and took Sri Lankan back to the government, Ranil opposed it too. There is nothing wrong with that. That’s what politics is for.

When Gotabhaya stepped down from the post of President, Speaker Mahinda Yapa asked Ranil to step down from the post of Prime Minister, and all parties agreed to appoint an all-party president and a prime minister, not to do politics, but to make an all-party agreement to take decisions to recover the country until a general election is held. Ranil sabotaged and made a deal with the Rajapaksa’s and took over the presidency. Instead of coming to parliament every day and berating Kumar, Sajith, and Sirasa, it would be to his advantage if he maintained the dignity of the president and behaved in a rational manner.
