The Hikkaduwa police said that the two persons who were killed in Hikkaduwa today (31) are accused in the murder of Roshan de Silva alias Kata Roshan.
These defendants were on their way to the Galle court on a motorcycle to appear in a pending case regarding the murder of Kata Roshan.
The police said that two people who came from another motorcycle shot them dead with a T-56 firearm while they were going.
Appuahandi Prasanna Mendis (47) and Isuru Prasanna (26) of Hendahewage were killed in this way.
On 21.12.2021, Kapakota Roshan de Silva was killed with sharp weapons in Nalagasdeniya area of Hikkaduwa, and investigations have revealed that this killing was done due to a conflict between two underworld gangs.
