Dr. Harsha presents economic plan: appeals to leaders

Dr. Harsha de Silva, an Opposition MP, presented a plan to revive Sri Lanka’s economy in Parliament today.

In his address to Parliament, he urged the leaders of all political parties represented in the House to support this programme.

“I have presented an economic programme that will secure the trust of both domestic and foreign entities in order to revitalise the economy,” he said.

This economic programme has been developed over several months through consultations with experts, scholars, trade unions, politicians, and the general public.

The approval of several opposition political parties has also been obtained for this temporary economic plan, according to the MP.

Dr. Harsha de Silva, an SJB MP, stated that this economic plan can steer Sri Lanka in the right direction, after which an election can be called.

“I recommend that the All-Party Government follow this economic plan.” “I urge all political parties in Parliament to lend their support to this programme,” he added.

The MP stated that such a move will boost both domestic and international confidence, allowing Sri Lanka to emerge from its current economic crisis.

He stated that there appears to be no proper plan for the National Government at the moment, as there are indications of 30/40 ministries with a reshuffle of the current Parliamentarians.

“Although I have been invited to accept a ministerial portfolio, this will not solve the country’s problems.” “I don’t need to join any government just to get a ministerial portfolio,” Dr. Harsha de Silva added.

According to the SJB MP, Sri Lanka currently requires a Cabinet with fewer ministers from both the ruling and opposition parties for a specified period of time under a specific plan.

Dr. Harsha de Silva, a parliamentarian, urged all party leaders in Parliament to join forces and extend their support for his economic programme for the benefit of the nation
