Do you recall the mother who coloured the struggle?

Do you remember that evening?

It’s as if the sun was snatched from the Galle Face sky and thrown into the sea.

The sky is red in places. The sea is blood colored.

Colombo was surrounded by the darkness that was hiding in places. The last time people stood in front of televisions was the day before this story.

On that day, people of all colours, political parties, and races came out. It was right in front of the president’s House. It was a wonderful night when people flocked against executive power, a colourful night with hundreds of light, streams illuminated in the darkness.

Do you remember the picture that went viral? This mother took the most valuable possessions in the house and went to the Jubilee Post Junction, joined the crowd.

She went out into the streets to look for the little people of this tiny island. Who are this mother and child, about whom no one knows? Who is this and where are they?

We’ve never met her. Please inform her that we adore her and her child.

Tell her that we will band together and fight for her children, as well as mine and yours.

Long live ‘struggle’!
