A group of heads of the Department of International Relations of the Communist Party of China and representatives of the United People’s Alliance led by opposition leader Mr Sajith Premadasa met at the opposition leader’s office this afternoon (25). Sri Lanka Latest News

This unique discussion between the two parties was limited to an hour and in addition to this discussion, a 45-minute face-to-face discussion was also held between Mr. Sajith Premadasa, the leader of the opposition, and Ms. Sun Haiyan, the deputy minister of the Central Committee of the International Department of the Communist Party of China.

Here, many economic, commercial, business and political relations were discussed at length and, views were exchanged between the two sides regarding the building of business relations between Sri Lanka and China. Here, the two sides also exchanged views on China’s economic development model for our country and recovery from the current situation.

There, the heads of the International Relations Department of the Chinese Communist Party said that they expect to invest one million US dollars to revive the country’s economy.

There, Mr Sajith Premadasa informed the present delegation about the problems faced by micro, small and medium businessmen and entrepreneurs. Also, since this year is an election year, the leader of the opposition informed the audience about its importance, and the leader of the opposition, Mr Sajith Premadasa, further pointed out that he and the Samagi Jana Balawega are ready to build a populist government that the people expect.

Representing the Communist Party of China on this occasion, Ms Sun Haiyan, Deputy Minister of the Central Committee of its International Department, Chinese Ambassador Mr Qi Zhenhong, Deputy Director General of the Department of International Relations of the Chinese Communist Party Mr. Lin Tao, Representative of the Chinese Embassy in Sri Lanka Mr Chen Xiangyuan, Chinese Miss Li Jinyan, director of the International Relations Department of the Communist Party, its deputy director Ms Wen Jun, vice minister secretary Ms Jin Yan, third secretary of the embassy Mr Jin Enze and translator Zhang Guyu joined.

Also, representing the Samagi Jana Balawega and the Samagi Jana Alliance, opposition leader Mr Sajith Premadasa, Dr Harsha de Silva, Eran Wickramaratne, Professor G. l. Peris, Mano Ganesan, Palani Digambaram, Harshana Rajakaruna and Nalin Bandara joined.
