CBSL governor tells BBC he is concerned about a possible shutdown!

The country will shut down if a stable government is not formed soon, Central Bank Governor Dr. Nandalal Weerasinghe told the BBC today.

He also stated that negotiations with the IMF are heavily reliant on the formation of a stable government.

He emphasised that the country’s current dollar reserves are insufficient to import necessary fuel and that the country’s situation has become very unstable as a result of the economic downturn.
