American Ambassador urge SL Government to ensure civilian rights.

Ambassador to the United States of America in Sri Lanka, Ms. Julie J Chung, issued a Twitter message reminding the government of Sri Lanka to ensure protestors exercise their rights peacefully.

Anti government protest was held this evening in Colombo against J. Government’s repression.

Freedom of assembly is fundamental to democracy. We urge the SL government to ensure space to support the rights of citizens and for protesters to exercise their rights peacefully.
