Air India fly to Jaffna next month

Air India will begin flights to Jaffna International Airport in Palaly next month.

Priyantha Fernando, Chairman of the Sri Lanka Tourism Development Authority (SLTDA), stated that Air India’s representative stated at a meeting on Thursday that the company plans to start flying to Palaly twice a week beginning next month.

The aircraft is described as a 75-90 seat carrier, and it was noted that Indian visitors are not seasonal.

Sri Lankan authorities have announced that international airline operations to the northern airport will resume on July 1. On October 17, 2019, the Alliance Air flight from Chennai was the first commercial international flight to land at the airport.
