According to the Ceylon Electricity Board, electricity bills will jump 60% to 65%.

The Ceylon Electricity Board estimates that the electricity bill will rise by 60% to 65%.
This was stated by its General Manager, Mr. Rohan Senaviratne, during a press conference held today in response to a question from journalists (27).

“The electricity board cannot raise the electricity bill on its own; everyone in the country must participate. Various discussions are currently taking place among the general public, the Ministry, the Central Bank, the Treasury, and the Cabinet. They are the ones who tell us that this is the correct course of action.”
