The Borella Police says an unidentified party kidnapped Janashakti Group chairman Dinesh Shafter and tried to kill him in the graveyard.
The Chairman departed the Kurunduwatta Flower Road house this afternoon, informing his wife he was going to visit a person who would provide him several crores, according to the police.
Police said his wife phoned him quickly and the chairman’s phone was off and his wife’s mobile phone received signals indicating he was staying in Borella cemetery.
The chairman’s wife immediately informed a corporate official and dispatched him to the Borella cemetery, where a police officer told him that the chairman’s hands were tied to the driver’s seat and a wire was around his neck.
