A person has made a complaint to the police that MP Jayantha Samaraweera assaulted him.
It was also reported that the person who was allegedly assaulted fell unconscious when he arrived at the Bandaragama police station.
He was later admitted to the Bandaragama District Hospital by an ambulance.
A former organizer of the National Freedom Front in Panadura Diggala area, he is returning from attending a funeral home with his friend, alleging that MP Jayantha Samaraweera assaulted him.
However, when asked about the incident, Member of Parliament Mr. Jayantha Samaraweera stated that he was not involved in any such attack.
The Bandaragama Police say that Mr. Jayantha Samaraweera has made a complaint to the police that he was assaulted by the alleged assailant.
Meanwhile, the chief bodyguard of the MP has also made a complaint that the person tried to attack the Member of Parliament Mr. Jayathna Samaraweera.
