A Budhist monk was arrested at Moratuwa Egoda Uyana area
It is reported that Thero has had an illicit affair with the girl’s mother and has abused the girl after drinking alcohol with her in an apartment belonging to Thero.
It is also said that this monk has held positions as Buddhist affairs adviser to two former presidents.
The girl’s mother has also been arrested on suspicion.
The eleven year old girl has complaint the incident to her grand mother who in return alerted the police.
