A father stole food for his starving children; a good officer pays the bill and releases him

The Borella Police have arrested a father of a few small children who stole three kilos of rice and a Samaposha packet. The arrest was made following a notification by the guards of the nearby supermarket.

He, a father of two residing in Dehiwala area, told the police that he did not have any food or drink for four days and the children were also hungry so he committed this theft.
