A committee to investigate SriLankan Airlines’ hiring of a married flight attendant- Minister

SriLankan employees express their surprise regarding a statement made by Aviation Minister Nimal Siripala de Silva that a committee will be appointed to look into the allegation that a married woman has been hired as a flight attendant by SriLankan Airlines.

They point out that it is unnecessary to appoint a committee spending time and money to find out whether a woman is married or unmarried, let alone increasing the profitability of this company, which loses more than 200 billion US dollars a year, and it can be done very simply through the human resources department of the company.

Recently, the opposition accused SriLankan Airlines of hiring a married woman as a flight attendant in Parliament, and Minister Nimal Siripala de Silva said in reply that a committee can be appointed to look into the matter if necessary.
