Mrs. K. Perera, Dinusha Lakshan’s mother, claimed that while her son was sleeping at his house in Hospital Lane, Kandy, a man took him to the Hospital Lane Junction, where a group of thugs in two three-wheelers attacked him with iron fists and abducted him, saying he was wanted to be interrogated about a motorcycle deal.
However, because her son’s phone was not working, her relatives and friends later discovered her son beaten, cut, and abandoned in the Hantana Wind Stadium area.
Mr. Suresh Lakmina, Lakshan’s cousin, said his cousin was immediately admitted to Kandy General Hospital for treatment and that he was told the attack was carried out by some security force personnel.
