A 17-year-old resident thero of Hindagala Raja Maha Vihara, was poisoned and pushed into a canal by someone. The victim thero is being admitted to the Peradeniya Teaching Hospital in critical condition.
The thera was admitted to the Peradeniya Teaching Hospital’s emergency unit around 10.30 a.m. today and is currently receiving treatment.
This terrible fate befell on Attaragama Dhammarathana, a young thera. There is speculation that another monk was involved in the poisoning incident, and the Peradeniya Police is conducting investigations.
