45% tax imposed on CEYPETCO fuel stations from June 1st

The petrol station owners say that the government has imposed a new tax on the Ceylon Petroleum Corporation (CEYPETCO) petrol stations since 1st July and that if they have to pay a tax of 45 percent of the income, their business will collapse.

A major gas station owner said that the gas station owners have taken legal action regarding the reduction of the commission given to the gas stations and are also taking legal advice regarding the related tax.
