RW plays queen while SL burns

Met Charles, but Britain brings the proposal against Sri Lanka.

Then President Maithripala went to the 2015 United Nations General Assembly with his son Daham Sirisena. It is the first General Assembly meeting attended by Maithripala as President. He received a phone call from Colombo while he was at the New York Hotel when he was in New York.
‘Sir, your son has been severely severely criticized in the Daily Mirror newspaper…’

Disturbed, Maithri looked up the Daily Mirror on the Internet and asked them to give him a copy of the article. Below is an excerpt from that article.
What is Dham doing in the U.N.? President Sirisena has not yet given an explanation…

We still consider it our policy that Mahinda taking his son to the United Nations meeting cannot be justified. The participation of Maithripala’s son Daham Sirisena in the United Nations visit is unacceptable. There are already comments on social media severely criticizing Dham Sirisena’s visit…’

Daily Mirror

On the 27th of September, the Daily Mirror ruthlessly criticized the president’s sons and fathers on foreign trips. This is September 2022. President Ranil went to London last week to attend the funeral of Her Majesty the Queen. Ranil’s brother-in-law, the owner of the Daily Mirror Company, Ruwan Wijewardena, emerged into Ranil’s visit in London, just as Dham suddenly emerged from London during Maithripala’s UN meeting. The Daily Mirror didn’t say a word about it. But the social media made a big fuss. That is , like the Mahindas, the family tours.

Why did Ranil go to the Queen’s funeral…’

Today, the news about Sri Lanka is circling around the world is that the children of Sri Lanka are starving to death without food. Ranil’s government is also shouting to the world that there is a food crisis in Sri Lanka. The World Bank and the United Nations are crying out for help to solve that crisis. In such a situation, I don’t know how the world community, which looks sympathetically towards Sri Lanka, will think of attending to the Queen’s funeral with crowd from the family.

On the other hand, neither Charles nor the royal familyhood Great Britain can do anything to Sri Lanka. While Ranil is chatting with King Charles, the British government that maintains the King Charles is ready to present a resolution to the United Nations against Sri Lanka. This is the most dangerous proposal against Sri Lanka and it has been recommended that sanctions should be imposed against those who have violated human rights in Sri Lanka and that they should be punished in an international court.

During Mahinda’s government or Gotabaya’s government, such a serious and harsh proposal was not presented against Sri Lanka. If Ranil was right, he should have gone to Geneva, not to the Queen’s funeral. Ranil should have gone to Geneva and tried to prevent this proposal being presented or attempt to make the proposal less severe. The reason is that this proposal does not come only against the violation of human rights during the war.

This proposal has been presented against the Easter attack and Ranil’s government using the Terrorism Act to suppress the struggle. Ranil’s government sent Foreign Minister Ali Sabri and Wijayadasa Rajapaksa to deal with this proposal. They moved away without even filing an answer to the proposal. Ali Sabri move to the UN General Assembly.

Why Ranil did not go to the U.N. ?

Instead of going to the funerals of the Queen and the former Prime Minister of Japan, if he attended the United Nations General Assembly and asked the world to hear about the crisis that Sri Lanka is facing today, the world’s attention would be on Sri Lanka.

Ranil did not go to the U.N. not because of anything else That is Because it would be a disgrace for him if he could not get an opportunity to meet the heads of statete. Ranil knew that every head of state who goes to the Queen’s funeral meets King Charles in a public meeting. The heads of state who are going to the funeral of the former Prime Minister of Japan are also scheduled to meet the Prime Minister of Japan.

But the U.N. is not so. The leaders of the world’s powerful countries do not like to meet a leader who suppressed a state struggle using the Terrorism Act.
That is the true story. There is no benefit to Sri Lanka by meeting King Charles and having a chit chat at a public gathering. He came to Sri Lanka’s Independence celebrations in 1997 as Prince Charles. During Mahinda’s government, he came for the heads of state of the Commonwealth meeting. The Queen personally met Maithri.

This is why meeting with King Charles is a meeting to say thank you when you come to a funeral. Today, Sri Lanka is in the middle of a serious economic crisis and an international crisis. The international crisis created by the United Nations Human Rights Commission is more dangerous than the economic crisis. If you go to the funeral without looking for solutions to these crises, you will only receive ‘thank you’ or ‘thanks’.
