Cobra box office collection Day 2: Chiyaan Vikram’s film sees a huge drop

Chiyaan Vikram’s Cobra saw a huge drop in collections on its second day. It is to be seen if the film would pick up pace during the weekend.

Chiyaan Vikram’s recently released film, Cobra, received negative reviews from critics and audiences. As a result, the film saw a huge drop in collections on its second day. According to trade reports, Cobra managed to collect Rs 5.50 crore, which is three times lesser than what it earned on its opening day. The weekend is quite crucial for Cobra as it will determine the theatrical run for the film.

COBRA SEES A HUGE DROP IN COLLECTION ON DAY 2

Chiyaan Vikram’s Cobra, directed by Ajay Gnanamuthu, was released in theatres on August 31 amid huge fanfare. The film had a rousing start at the box office.

However, on its second day, the film saw a big drop in collections. Cobra collected Rs 17.45 crore in India on its opening day. On September 1, the film is estimated to have earned a paltry Rs 5.50 crore. This could also be because of the negative word of mouth.

On August 31, Cobra got off to a rousing start. According to trade analyst Ramesh Bala, Cobra grabbed the number 4 position in the Top 5 grossers in Tamil Nadu in 2022. Ajith’s Valimai, Thalapathy Vijay’s Beast and Kamal Haasan’s Vikram grabbed the first three spots.
