Babil Khan Remembers Dad, Irrfan Khan Ahead Of His Debut, Talks About Being Compared To Him

Babil Khan, who is all set to mark his debut with the movie “Qala,” bares his heart out about his father and supremely talented actor, late Irrfan Khan.

A father holds the most special place in the hearts of the children, as they are not just an inspiration for them, but also their protector and guide. And for Babil Khan, it is his father’s memories that have been helping him steer forward in the most beautiful way.

For the unversed, Babil Khan is the eldest son of the late actor, Irrfan Khan and film producer, Sutapa Sikdar. On April 29, 2020, the world came crashing down for Babil, his mother, Sutapa and his younger brother, Ayaan, with the unfortunate death of Irrfan Khan. While time has passed ever since, the family has emerged strong enough with the powerful memories of Irrfan guiding their way forward.
Fast forward to today, Babil is all set to follow his father’s footsteps and make his debut with the film, Qala. While prepping up for his intense role in the film was challenging work for Babil, he had the strength of his father passed down to him in the form of guidance. During a media interaction for his film, Babil remembered his daddy, Irrfan and shared what he would have felt, if he was there to see his debut. In his words:
Further in the interview, Babil spoke about the inevitable possibility of being compared with his father. Though, he accepts such a comparison, however, he shared that his perception of being compared to Irrfan’s legacy is different. He mentioned:
While coming from a film legacy, especially since both his parents have been closely associated with the art of films and filmmaking, it was assumed by many that Babil would too follow in his footsteps. However, the budding actor revealed a completely different reason for him to choose this particular field. In his words:
